We’ve had many fundraising events over the years, from Mystery Trips to Luaus on Luther’s Island. Our fundraisers have included “Poker with a Purpose”, “Winter Wishes Ice Skating Show”, and Estate/Garage Sales to name a few.
Due to our fundraising efforts, we were able to grant Ethan a scholarship to attend a camp for hearing-impaired children.
QIFC Estate Sales are very successful and have become the club’s main source of income. Proceeds earned are designated to support services and projects. Members clean, sort, display, price and sell household items no longer needed by homeowners due to down-sizing and personal situations.
Shannon, “Poker with a Purpose” coordinator, holds proceeds earned at our all-day poker event. We hired professional dealers and had 60 poker players who made a donation to Quota in order to play. A silent auction was held to bring in more money for our club. All the proceeds went to help disadvantaged children in our community.
The “Winter Wishes Ice Show” at Epic was a combination fund raiser and Service project. We had 14 tables “on the ice” for our guests to watch the final dress rehearsal and enjoy hot drinks and deserts during the intermission. We sold tickets to the event and donated almost ½ of the seats to kids and parents from Putnam Elementary School and the Deaf and hard of hearing community in Ft. Collins. Our Estate Sales were also a Service/Fundraising project. We helped older folks who were downsizing or out of town children helping their parents move. We sorted, packed, cleaned, researched valuable items, priced, sold and cleaned up. The owners donated a portion of the sales to Quota Club.
We’re always looking for new and different ways to earn money to fulfill our goal of helping kids who are deaf or hard of hearing and disadvantaged women and children!
